Title:   Loss Prevention Coordinator

Job Overview

Administers various store physical security programs and company background process. Supports Loss Prevention and Safety personnel in updateing and maintaining department databases and files.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Administer and coordinate the background screening process for all divisions (Michaels, Recollections, Star Wholesale, Artistree, Aaron Brothers, all RDC’s and all Corporate Office locations). Review all background results requiring Loss Prevention approval. Ensure proper follow up by Investigators, Loss Prevention Managers, and Human Resource Managers/Recruiters. Act as liaison between Michaels Stores Inc. and the current Background Vendor ensuring compliance to all company adjudication criteria and required timelines. Review monthly invoices from background screening company for accuracy.
  • Administer and coordinate the alarm systems service and installation process for all divisions  Update and maintain alarm system databases for all company locations. Review and analyze store alarm exception reporting. Oversee and coordinate the alarm company service call program for all new and existing company locations. Act as liaison between Michaels Stores Inc. and the current Alarm Vendors ensuring compliance to all company requirements and service response timelines. Review and manage service call reporting. Review monthly invoices from alarm companies for accuracy. Ensure all alarm permits are renewed as required.
  • Order and coordinate the installation of all specialty physical security devices including CCTV, domes, door chimes, mirrors, etc, for all divisions (Michaels, Recollections, Star Wholesale, Artistree, Aaron Brothers, all Corporate Office locations). Ensure proper invoicing of items and maintain appropriate records of which locations have specific equipment.
  • Update written material used as store guidelines concerning physical security issues, i.e., manuals, policies, etc. Communicate to field and corporate personnel current company procedures regarding physical security repair issues. Oversee and coordinate the safe, lock, and security hardware service call program for all new and existing company locations. Act as liaison between Michaels Stores Inc. and the current Safe and Lock & Hardware Vendor(s) ensuring compliance to all company requirements and service response timelines. Review and manage service call reporting. Review monthly invoices from service companies for accuracy.
  • Update store database with new store information. Maintain calendars and ensure vendor compliance to all deadlines. Participate in new store conference calls and ensure burglar alarm systems, fire alarm systems, awareness centers, and all locks & hardware are installed within deadlines and functioning properly. Create and maintain all store files complete with alarm monitoring and installation contracts, floor plans, construction memoranda, and any other pertinent information. Act as liaison between the Loss Prevention department, all LP Vendors, Store Planning, Real Estate and Construction departments ensuring compliance to all company requirements and timelines.

 
Requirements
Job Requirements:
  • Two years experience in Security or retail Loss Prevention.
  • Experience with alarm systems, cctv systems, DVR's, key systems, safes, and project management.
  • Experience with Microsoft office programs, Microsoft Access, and the internet.


Educational Requirements:
  • High School graduate required. Associates or Bachelors degree is preferred.
  • Criminal Justice, Security, and/or Business.
